ASTM A572スチールプレートは、通常、構造用途で使用される高強度低合金（HSLA）鋼の一般的なグレードです。 A572鋼には、材料の硬度と重量を耐える能力を高める化学合金が含まれており、この材料は、同様の組成の鋼鉄グレードと比較して軽量です。
A572スチールプレートには5つの異なるグレードがあります。グレード42、グレード50、グレード55、グレード60、グレード65です。これらのグレードのそれぞれは、機械的特性と化学組成にわずかな違いがあり、特定のアプリケーションに適している可能性があります。ただし、A572-50は最も一般的なA572グレードです。
